A) Applicants must fall within the definition of a media house (see “Membership Criteria”) and be actively engaged in the media industry in Jamaica.

B) The company and its principal owners and executives must be engaged in a legal business and be of sound ethical and financial standing.

C) Membership is open to foreign media companies conducting business in Jamaica.

D) Applications must be in writing and must include a completed application form and a covering letter addressed to the Chairman and Secretary of the Media Association Jamaica Limited along with the following:-

• The name (s) of financial owners (active or silent)
• A brief detail of the company
• The specific nature of the company’s current and intended future business activities
• Annual membership fee

Application Process

Applications for membership are received on the strict basis that the Committee’s decision is final.  Should an application be refused, correspondence to the applicant will be restricted to that fact without engaging in a reason or further debate written or verbal.

Method of Payment:

Applications are only accepted for consideration with a cheque attached for the appropriate annual membership fee.

Cancellation of Membership:

The Company applying for membership understands that this membership can be cancelled for any said reason including but not restricted to:

• Poor financial standing, unethical or illegal business activities;
• Non-compliance with the current or future principles and values of the Media Association Jamaica Limited.

The Media Association Jamaica reserves the right to verify any information provided by the applicant.
