MTI and IUC were invited to the meeting to give an update on their media programmes. 

Ms. McGregor advised that MTI offers short term courses (Video Production, Voice & Speech Communication, Digital Media Arts) and long term courses (Audio Engineering and Associate Degree in Video Production).  Ms. McGregor also said that customized courses are also offered.  MTI partners with IUC for practical studies.

Dr. Dodman and Mr. Evans of IUC advised that a B.A. degree in Media and Communications is offered which includes courses such as Print Script Writing (they plan to include radio and television), Communication Skills, Conflict Resolution, Information Literacy, Cultural Studies, Marketing, Psychology, Sociology, Radio Production, Voice & Speech, Digital Photography, Public Relations, Graphic Designing, Media Management, Audio Studies, Media Ethics and a foreign language.  IUC plans to add specialization options in television and radio.  They will be expanding their programme to Cornwall and South Middlesex.  The media stressed the importance of learning the difference between radio, television, print and online reporting.
